If the USA is going to identify and develop the appropriate infrastructure for this initiative to work, then states must be able to communicate for driver, identification and security purposes, exchange of information in a real time environment, and the ability to handle the volume of traffic associated with 240 million plus drivers within seconds of inquiry. Therefore, in practical terms, DHS and other federal partners must work on the same level with state jurisdictions and the vendor community on Real ID implementation and deploy all necessary resources.
The purpose of this summit is to provide an organized forum for key stake holders in state, federal and local government to come together with the vendor community to generate ideas, discuss the technologies available, discuss the practical implications of large --scale systems upgrades and begin to formulate approaches to Real ID compliance.
Target Audience: State DMV’s (Job functions: Commissioners, Administrators, CIO’s, Senior Management, IT, Operations, Programme Directors, Enforcement staff, PR); Federal officials; administration and congressional, state legislators, congress members/staffers, DHS, DOT, Justice, State, etc. Representative organizations e.g. AAMVA, NGA, NCLS, Chief Law Enforcement Officers for Traffic, government sponsored bodies dealing with identity document fraud; the vendor community.
